Touring The Country On Your Motorcycle

October 24, 2009

Have you ever had the desire to hit the open road on a motorcycle and explore. This can seem like a big deal but it is a lot easier and funner than traveling in a car. All you need is of course a motorcycle but also the right gear. Motorcycles now can have loads of different accessories loaded on the such as side saddlebags and tank bags that stay secured with magnets that stick to your front gas tank.

There are different types of trips you can do such as just short under 100 mile day trips. You can also go for just weekend trips if you find it hard to get time off or you just want to get away for the weekend. Other people choose to go on more lengthy trips for weeks at a time and the major expense you will have is lodging, so be sure to set aside a travel fund if you choose a week or longer trip.

One way to keep your costs down if you do want to get away for a longer period of time while touring on your motorcycle is to do it by staying at camp sites. This is a relatively low cost way to have a place to stay overnight. The cost will just be the amount of money to rent a camp ground, which are often under $15 a night. The only drawback is you have to load on some more gear onto your bike such as a tent and sleeping bag.
