How to Become a Qualified HGV Driver

February 7, 2010

The UK may be in recession with thousands of people losing their jobs every month, but there is high demand for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) drivers. Therefore, there is an opportunity for anyone who undertakes the necessary HGV training to get a job with good pay and job security.

In order to become an HGV driver, you need to be properly trained, qualified and licensed. You should start by finding a professional transport training company and enrolling on an HGV training course. You should look for a qualified training company who have instructors that are experienced at driving the type of vehicles you wish to drive. They should be knowledgeable, patient and good at building your confidence. They will be able to share with you a wealth of knowledge and skills that will prepare you for your driving test.

In order to drive a HGV vehicle, you will need to take a theory and a practical driving test, as follows:

The Theory Test

There are two parts to the theory test and they can be taken separately or on the same day. You can also choose which one to do first. You need to pass both parts to gain an overall pass. Once you have passed the theory test you can then apply to take your practical driving test.

The Practical Driving Test

This is designed to test the skills you will need to be a professional driver.

The practical test involves:

  • vehicle safety questions
  • a test of driving ability
  • a test of specific manoeuvres, including a braking exercise and reversing into a bay

To become an HGV driver you will need a high degree of vehicle handling skill, which is why you need the right HGV driver training before you take your practical test. To become a professional lorry driver you will also need to know about the regulations that relate to your work and have a strong knowledge of the Highway Code, especially road markings and signs that relate to heavy goods vehicles.

O man, Im loosing my hair

February 7, 2010

So, your hair is beginning to bald

male pattern baldness causes acute anxiety in most men as they associate their hair loss with premature aging, and deterioration in looks which goes on to hurt self-confidence. It’s a gripping emotional domino effect. Hair loss which is also known as Androgenic Alopecia effects over ninety percent of men. sixty percent of men are balding well before their fifties. This common condition that effects nearly ALL men is also known   as “male pattern baldness (mpb)”.

The main reasons for alopecia are :

Testosterone the male hormone
heredity (That dna programming controls if your follicles will die due to hormonal    imbalances.

balding typically occurs fist in the crown or temples. Loosing hair in the temples has the most noticable effect on appearance as it’s most noticeable. Total male pattern baldness usually occurs over a period of 5 to 10 years, though some men can loose all their hair in as little as twelve months. This quick loss is usually because of dht spreading due to dna programming.

What can you do about alopecia?

This is where must try to do your homework and depending on what stage of male pattern baldness you are at will direct your best solutions. One treatment all early stage alopecia sufferers MUST implement is dht blockers . These are the proven hair follicle slaughterers. Dht blockers stop them dead in thier tracks.

The most common off the shelf treatments for alopecia are :

    * Propecia (Finisteride)
    * Rogaine Minoxidil
    * Dht blockers (Provillus)

All the above except Porvillus are FDA approved. Roagine was accidently discovered while minioxidil was being tested in acne treatment tests. It was seen to cause hair growth in the treated areas. Propecia is obtainable by prescription only. You should be speaking to your gp immediatly when you are worried about balding. You may have read or heard that there are known side effects for rogaine or finesteride. There has been many cases where men complained of lower sex drive and tiredness. But this is usually for the first 4 to 6 weeks as their systems adopt with the drug. The effects then subside. Having said that only a tiny percentage of men get these side effects. .

Never purchase propecia online

You can only get propecia by getting your doctor to fill out a prescription. Dont be fooled by those online stores claiming to have true propecia available. These are always counterfit and will not have any positive effect on your hair loss. The sad thing is , your losing more hair all the while you thinking your online purchase is working. The greater amount of time alopecia is left untreated the more difficult it is to get descent results. hair loss when spotted early can be completely stopped by dht inhibitors. Always be wary of the hair loss scams that are out there. Even celebrity endorsed ads can be scams.

You can speed up any dht supplements you take or finisteride by taking care of your diet and complimenting the dht inhibitors with foods like sea food that also contain dht blocking properties. I include simple diet tips also in my bonus. You can find this information on my blog free if you read some of the blog posts related to food and hair loss.

Lots of people find it good to mix shampoos, and hair growth products with a healthy lifestyle. This includes some exercise, quitting smoking if that is a habit, and eating the right foods.

balding shampoos

male pattern baldness shampoos are also good (but only when used with other treatments) for promoting blood circulation and oxygenation in the scalp. However dht shampoos on their own are NOT enough. Revivogen is by far the best dht and haor loss shampoo on the market today. It’s good to bring out a nice shine in your hair and is also mild compared to other high chemical shampoos.

Does smoking cause balding?

Smoking does have an effect on the blood circulatory system. Nicotine causes blood vessels to constrict, which makes it harder for your heart to push the blood throughout your body which then leads to hair follicles getting less of what they really need to maintain healthy hair growth. Yes this does have an effect on your hair but not enough to cause male pattern baldness.

The best you can do when it comes to balding is simply haing good knowledge on the topic. Being aware of the effects occurring that are causing you to lose your hair and how to fight these hormonal changes is key. If thinning hair is left untreated, the follicles will certainly die and not produce anymore hair. The only way to restore dead follicles is through expensive hair restoration.
