How to Find a Good Driving School

January 23, 2010

Reaching the ag of 17 in the UK entitles you to start driving. The cost of driving lessons are not cheap (but absolutely necessary), so you will want to ensure this money is wisely spent. Firstly, you will need to identify some local driving schools and ask suitable questions of them.

There are lots of directories on the internet specialising in listing driver training schools of all types. I located one that listed thousands of local driving schools throughout the UK so you will surely find some driving instructors that may or may not be suitable for you.

When you contact the driving instructors, you will want to be certain that they are fully qualified and not still training to be a driving instructor. You can tell this by the type of licence they hold which, must be displayed in the window of their training vehicle. A fully qualified driving instructor will have a green octagonal licence whereas a trainee will have a pink triangular licence.

Many driving instructors will offer you a discount on the price of your driving lessons by paying for more than one in advance. Some will also offer discounts based on your profession e.g. nurses, students etc. Be sure that you enquire about any possible discounts.

You do need to realise though that cheapest lessons are not always the best driving lessons and you could well end up taking far more driving lessons than you actually need thereby being more expensive overall. So, once you start your driver training, if for whatever reason you are not happy with your instructor, do not be afraid to try out another local driving school.

Some of these reasons could be a personality clash, shouting, turning up late, using the lesson time to stop off at shops/do errands, stopping to use their mobile (illegal whilst driving), a dirty (smelly!) car etc.

Let us not forget that you are the customer and spending your hard earned money and should therefore receive and expect a top level of courtesy, service and training.

Do Massage Chairs Work?

January 23, 2010

Massage has been around for a long time and is often used to soothe aches and pains. Just think about how good it is to rub your own feet when they’re hot and tired. It’s effective if it’s done right, but it’s difficult to do properly on yourself. And it costs money. A professional massage can cost 40 and up and for many people that can be too much to have done regularly.

So what can you do if you’d like the benefits of a massage every week – or even every day – but you can’t afford the regular cost of treatment? Well, there are a number of things you could doOne of the easiest and cheapest over the long term is to invest in one of the growing selection of home massage ‘chairs’, such as the SBM-500h, especially if you get a homedics shiatsu massager at a good price.

What a massage chair is for is to give you varying levels of massage intensity and usually, to add heat to the massage. The different models ,of course have different features, but all the good ones have the concept of zones. There are usually at least a couple of zones of massage, which may be independently switchable and controllable so that you can enjoy the massage in the area where you need it most.

Quality models, like the homemedics massager, or Homedics shiatsu massage cushion offer independently controlled back and shoulder massage. Once you’ve experienced the ability to choose the area that gets massaged, just by flicking a button you won’t want to revert to a basic model!

Models with heat output are also lovely to sink into on a cold winter’s evening. Relaxing on a chair that gently warms your back and shoulders combining it with a gentle de-stressing massage is a great way to relax and unwind after the tensions of the day.

If you have any health issues, or joint, back, or heart problems, consult your doctor for professional advice before self-administering any massage.
