The main forms of drug test are urine sample tests, saliva sample tests and hair sample tests, each test gives us different information; a hair test shows usage over months, urine tests show usage within days and saliva (or oral) tests tell you if the person has taken any drugs within a few hours.
There are a lot of different drug testing kits available; there are single cassette urine tests, which are used as a cocaine drug test, cannabis testing and opiate testing etc. There are urine test cups which are used to test for many types of drugs all in one test, there are also saliva tests which also tests for several forms of drug. There are also hair sample tests which can test for several of drugs, inconveniently these are rather pricey and they cannot be done at home.
What should you do if you think a member of your family is involved in drugs?
For starters it is best to have a sit down with them and talk to them about it, stay cool and tell them that you are worried about their health. If the individual denies taking drugs but you still have a strong belief that they are, request that they do a drugs test to confirm they don’t take drugs. Unfortunately, if they take drugs they are unlikely to do it freely and unfortunately all these tests need the individual’s cooperation. In this circumstance it is recommended to speak to an expert.
